SPORTY SPICE

Topshop 86 jersey | Romwe pleather shorts (similar here) | Zara heels (similar here) |

ONE OF MY FAVORITE . . . parts about going home is going home to my babies. My shoes. I'm being facetious, but sorta not. If you guys have seen my youtube videos regarding college (here & here), you know that I haven't been able to really bring any of my heels to school. Since my school is in the hills of Los Angeles (it's stairs on stairs on stairs f'real), I get blisters even walking around in sneakers! So when I come home, I'm so excited to play around with my outfits and put my shoes to good use. And again, if you've also seen my Spring Trends video, you know that I've been loooovin' the Sports Luxe trend. Here's my take on it with this awesome jersey shirt!

STAY RAD

Vagabond Youth shirt | American apparel disco pants | vintage flannel | gold collar from Glint & Gleam

WHEN I FIRST . . . even conjured up the idea to start printing my own "designs" (I use this term loosely because it's essentially just choosing fancy fonts and placement), I wanted simple sayings or slogans that were prevalent in my everyday life. The first shirt I ever printed read "Steer cleer of bad vibes" which was produced at a time in my life where I felt like I was surrounding myself with toxic people. This latest shirt I designed back in January is simply paying homage to one of my favorite words and a word that's used in my daily vocabulary (it's the sad Southern Californian in me): RAD. Suffice it to say, I love radness. I love rad people, books, everything, as unintelligent as that sounds. Nonetheless, I've been wearing this shirt non-stop and is one of my go-to shirts for both those lazy days and days when I feel like dressing it up. It's made out of cotton and spandex and has been printed in Los Angeles. Made with love, packed with radness. Check it out here

INSTA-UPDATE

HEY! SO IT'S BEEN a while... Between midterms, writing for the Daily Bruin (just found out I'm the new editor for next year's Lifestyle | Theater!!!!), upkeep for the store, and YouTube, I barely have time to breathe. Jk, I'm totes being hyperbolic- who doesn't have time to breathe? Like really. But I have been extremely busy and although that's no excuse to neglect this 'ole blog of mine, I thought I'd just do a quick check-in with you and let you know what's been going on in my life via Instagram photos. By the way you can follow me @amyvagabondd if that fancies your tickle. Please excuse me, it's 1:30AM and I'm getting stranger/delirious by the moment. (I really should be reading for my Life Science class...)
Coachella day two outfit (97 degrees Fahrenheit). My kimono is from a year ago from Foreign Exchange, dress by Brandy Melville, belt vintage, Chuck Taylors, and the Natasha sunnies from my store.
Coachella day one outfit. Standing for hours in line to for car camping! We could already feel the sweltering heat. If you haven't camped before at Coachella, I would highly recommend it.
Local Natives at sunset. Vibin' so hard. They were hands down my favorite performance at Coachella. I've loved these guys since 2010.
Day three at Coachella. Last year, I bought 5 pairs of boots to Coachella (um hello there are only three days, Amy) and this year I only brought one to maximize utility space in my car. These DIY-studded chucks have yet to fail me both comfort and style wise.
Getting some R&R after three blissful days in the desert at Le Pain Quotidien, right off campus. I got the Salmon omelette! So good.
Then we decided to get red velvet and cinnamon sundaes.
Then two days after that, I went to Beverly Hills to try the new Sprinkles Ice Cream. Red velvet ice cream with a red velvet cone. Diabetes in a cone! Yum!
Finguh swag (sounds so wrong) but feels so good. The knuckle ring is from Glint & Gleam!
What I wore that day. Basic school outfit is basic. Shirt is from Romwe, denim is vintage, pants from Zara, and my combat boots are the All Saint's Damisi boots!
Pretty much died during midterms on top of writing two stories for the Daily Bruin, but was revived by this free Dirty Projectors concert at my school. Reason 5304069 why I love my school.
Awkward outfit photos taken outside the dining hall. Guess being makeup-less makes me more adventurous with prints- check out that grid x polkadot print action going on. My shoes are from Stylenanda from back in the summer. They're no longer sold!
My humble abode: came home for Mother's Day.
An oldie but goodie (I'm referring to the photo). My mom is my number one fan, don't know what I'd do without her. Really, though.
I felt it was only appropriate that my most requested video was also my 100th! And here's to many mroe! Click to see me draw my life.
Today at school: Someone was pooping while I took this photo. I promptly left after I heard the first splash in the toilet. Totally TMI, sorry. My cardigan and croptop are from Brandy. Pants American Apparel. Hat from H&M (similar here).

GET READY WITH ME

NORMALLY . . . I don't share too many of my YouTube videos on my blog here because I feel like it's an entity of its own, but this video is hands down one of my favorite videos to date! For those who are unfamiliar with YouTube tag videos, these "Get Ready with Me" tag videos [are supposed to] showcase how you- well, get ready! Took about 4 hours to film (changing shirts, moving lipsticks one shot at a time is a time commitment- who knww?) and then another 2 to edit, but it was well worth it! Off to study for my midterms now.
Wish me luck!
Amy

denim on denim

MOSEYED ON OVER . . . to The Grove this spring break just to get a bite of Sprinkles and re-visit Topshop with a gal friend. In doing so, I went out on a limb and decided to reach far out of my style comfort zone with this denim on denim ensemble. (I'm currently still figuring out how I feel...) On a related note, you can probably tell from a few past posts that I've been loving this denim ombré chambray c/o The Editor's Market and it's no secret that these shorts have been an old favorite- a pair of high waisted denim that I handcut and handshredded. These shoes, on the other hand, just arrived in the mail today from Zara and are quickly already making their way to being my new favorite spring heel.

Have you tried denim on denim? What are your thoughts?

an instagr.amy update

Because I don't do a lot of blogging (due to time constraints), I feel like instagr.am is a really quick and easy way to update you on how life's been lately:
I'm not religious but I decided to go to church this Sunday, and these are the accessories I wore! :-) This photo was taken outside of Disneyland because the church was located near there. Both watches are vintage, ring is YSL inspired.
I know you can't tell from this photo, but I got my bi-annual haircut and recently chopped off 3-4 inches! My mane is officially gone.
First post-finals lunch with my mama: goat cheese chicken herb on ciabatta bread with fries and blackened salmon penne.
You're about to see how horribly I ate during finals (and a little, ok, a lot before that) and so I decided to exercise and gear up during spring break. I picked these pieces up at my local Nike and Champion stores! You can check out my haul here
Taking out Vagabond Youth's new STAY RAD tee out for a spin (coming soon)! I styled it really casually with some high waisted shorts and textured fuzzy cardigan from H&M.
Got new business cards. Had so much difficulty picking out the front photo but I really like the one I decided to go with!
Sinful eating a la dining hall pt. one. Banana split pancakes, how could I say no?! (I ate 2 more servings after this photo was taken...)
Close-up on our new STAY RAD tees!
Sinful eating a la Late Night pt. two. Yes, I ate all of this at midnight... after my dinner. I know I said I wasn't religious but, forgive me, Lord, for I have sinned!!
Awesome Guiseppe Zanotti-inspired lace-up stilettos c/o Choies
Wasn't the best idea to wear so much "armswag" at the library when I was trying to write a 10 page outline... all the accessories are from Glint & Gleam c/o Shoplately
Went to TopShop with a school friend ages ago! Ergo, here's happy Amy. My jacket is from Urban Outfitters, skirt is American Apparel, shirt is vintage, boots are from Urban, glasses from my store
Shoe room at TopShop. I never say cliché things like this, but... *drool*
Behind the scenes of adding our new Clubmaster sunnies on Vagabond Youth available now! (Sold out in Tortoise just now though)
Went to two different Targets to hunt down the Prabal Gurung floral crewneck sweater! Found one last one in a Large. Also scored these metallic accented sandals. I've been loving both!
My pretty new mini I got for my 19th birthday via my brother, mother, and father. NARS Orgasm blush and Afghan Red via myself :-p
Sunglasses sourcing for Vagabond Youth in LA!

Keep up with random bits and bobs of my life on http://instagram.com/amyvagabondd
Also if you ever had a question about me, I answer quite a load in my recent video here. Check it out!
And finally, if you'd like to follow me on bloglovin', that'd be rad.
